SISA

All SINPS students have one "sports day" per week. They wear their sports uniform for the duration of the day. 

During the day, they enjoy an onsite session with SISA  (Sport in Schools Australia), an external primary school sports provider.

• Kindy, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y5 - Thursday

• Y4 - Wednesday

• Y6 - Monday 

Gala Days

All Year 3-6 students participate in 2 Gala Days per term, on a Friday. Students participate in either PSSA or School Gala Days. 

Term 2 Gala Day dates

• Friday 15 May 

• Friday 22 May 

School Gala Days

School Gala Days are for students not competing in PSSA. Students play sports at school or at Toolang Oval. They wear their sports uniform for the duration of the day. 

• Years 3 & 4: 9-11am

• Years 5 & 6: 11.30-1.30pm

Roughly the first hour is skills development and the second hour is a game.

PSSA Gala Days

Students may try out for PSSA (Primary School Sports Association) teams, to represent SINPS and compete against other schools. Buses are organised to take PSSA students to offsite sporting venues for the day. 

Winter Gala Day sports

• Mixed: Soccer*, AFL and Netball

• Girls: Soccer*

All players are to wear mouthguards. * Soccer players are to wear shin guards and soccer boots if they have them.

Summer Gala Day sports

• Girls

  • Junior: Cricket, OzTag, mixed T-Ball

  • Senior: Cricket, OzTag, mixed Softball 

• Boys

  • Junior: Cricket, OzTag, mixed T-Ball

  • Senior: Cricket, OzTag, mixed Softball 

PSSA training dates - Gala Day 2

• Wednesday 20 May 

  • Recess - Junior gold and silver netball training at school

• Thursday 21 May

  • 7.55am - Soccer, AFL and senior netball training at school

  • Lunch - Junior bronze and green netball training at school

Important notes for PSSA students:

1. Consent form and payments - Complete the consent form and pay via SchoolBytes, for each season (i.e. one form for Summer and one form for Winter).

2. Code of Conduct - A Code of Conduct is to be signed for each of the Summer and Winter seasons, in Terms 1 and 2 respectively. The form is emailed to parents and is to be returned via email or handed to the teacher responsible for the relevant PSSA team. It should be returned before the first Gala Day of each season or on the day before they get on the bus at the latest.

3. Uniform - PSSA students wear a SINPS representative jersey for the duration of Gala Days. These are supplied to students by the Sports Coordinator and returned at the end of the season, clean and undamaged (otherwise a fee will be incurred). 

4. Food - Please pack recess and lunch for your child. Canteen orders are not available for PSSA students.

5. Gazebos - Please contact Jane on sports@sinpspnc.org.au if you can collect a gazebo from school, help to put it up at your child's sports ground and return it to school.

6. Medication - All medication belonging to PSSA students that is usually kept at the school will be taken by teachers to each child's PSSA venue.
