The SINPS P&C is always keen to welcome new members. Membership is open to all parents and carers of SINPS students, staff and citizens in the school's neighbourhood.
Membership entitles you to be involved in the decision making of the SINPS P&C, specifially during P&C meetings.
Although all school community members are welcome to attend our meetings and contribute their ideas and questions, if you'd like to vote on matters raised during meetings, you do need to be a member.
To become a member, please complete the following 2 steps:
Transfer $1 to the P&C bank account detailed below.
Account name: SINPS P&C
BSB: 032 188
Account: 204158
Complete the Membership Form on this page.
Once you have completed both steps, you will be a member of the St Ives North P&C until the close of the next AGM.
Who is eligible to be a member of our P&C Association?
All parents, carers and guardians of students enrolled at the school are eligible to be members.
All citizens in the school's neighbourhood are eligible to be members of the P&C.
The Principal is an ex-officio member of the P&C. That is, they are a member of the P&C by right of their position as Principal of the school.
Members of the school staff are eligible to be members of the P&C.
Employees of the P&C can be a member, however, they will need to be aware of potential conflict of interests when attending a meeting.
The current membership fee is $1, to be paid via direct bank transfer as detailed above.
Any person who pays membership between meetings will be recognised as a member with voting rights at the close of the next general meeting when the member register is updated.
A new member who pays their membership during a P&C general or annual general meeting will not be eligible to vote at that meeting due to the member register only being updated at the close of the meeting. Once the member register is updated they are considered a P&C member for voting purposes at the next P&C meeting.
New members can enjoy full voting rights after experiencing a meeting as an observer. P&C associations generally adopt this arrangement to foster a collaborative forum focused on long-term issues.
Once membership is paid, the members will remain current until the close of the next AGM.
The membership year is from the close of the AGM until the close of the next AGM.
A person must be a member to be nominated for any position of the Executive Committee.
Employees or persons considered to be employees, e.g. contractors, of a P&C cannot be nominated or hold an office bearer or executive position. They can be ordinary members of the P&C, however, conflict of interest needs to be declared if there are any items on the agenda that relate to your work area.
Principals do not have to pay a membership fee. The Principal as an ex-officio member has the right to move motions and vote like any other member and does not have the power of veto.
The Treasurer should issue receipts for all paying membership monies. It is in the members’ interest to obtain a receipt at the time of payment. If you do not receive a receipt, please email treasurer@sinpspnc.org.au
The Secretary has responsibility for maintaining a member register of financial members. The Treasurer issues receipts when membership is received.
