The Role of the P&C

The St Ives North Public School P&C:

• Acts as a liaison between parents and the school 

• Fosters opportunities for parents to participate in the school in a wide range of activities 

• Is a forum for parents to find out what's happening and what's planned at school

• Encourages parent input on issues, including the curriculum and other education areas and to maintain an open dialogue with the school

• Raises funds to provide the school with much-needed resources 

• Organises social activities to build community and connection

• Provides support and advice to the Principal and Executive team

• Represents parents, for example, on school committees, teacher interview panels, and in the development of school policy

• Acts on broader educational issues, particularly through its membership of the NSW P&C Federation

• Acts on broader community issues that impact on the welfare and safety of the students such as traffic and pedestrian safety
